The Current Arnold Town was formed in 1989 following a merger between the old established club Arnold F.C. (formed in 1928) and Arnold Kingswell (formed in 1969). The new club adopted the yellow of Arnold F.C. and the blue of Kingswell and established themselves at the King George V Ground in Gedling Road.
From the Central Midlands League Arnold Town, nicknamed the Eagles, moved into the Northern Counties East Division 1 and then swiftly into the Northern Counties East Premiership.
In the sixteen years of the club’s existence in its current form, Arnold have regularly won trophies, progressed steadily up the pyramid and established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in both local football and over the wider area through successfully competing in the Northern Counties East Premier Division and in a number of successful runs in the F.A. Cup and Vase.
In 2002 the Eagles had their best run in the F.A. Cup in recent years when they reached the 4th Qualifying Round before narrowly going out to Conference club Scarborough in front of a packed home crowd of over 900.
This season is the club's last at their current ground, they will start the 2008/09 season at the newly built Eagle Valley complex. The club has been seeking a new home for many years and it has been a long hard struggle for the club as they have battled against delays and red tape.
Their new home will provide the base for the senior side, reserves, academy and the numerous youth sides. This will enable the Arnold Youth and the senior sides to become one club at one venue for the first time.
The club's most recent success came in 2005 when they won their first piece of silverware since 1999 when they lifted the Notts Senior Cup. A spectacular effort from Scott Huckerby was enough to give the Eagles a 1-0 victory over Eastwood Town in front of a crowd of more than 650.
A number of ex-Eagles have made it to the professional game – notably, Devon White, Chris Freestone, Tristram Whitman and most recently Ben Hutchinson who signed for Premiership outfit Middlesbrough in January 2006. The Arnold Town programme ‘Eagle Eye’ is well respected in non-league circles and has done well in the national non-league programme survey.
Arnold Town have a club shop situated inside the social club, open an hour before every game and at half time. They have a good stock of current season programmes as well as hundreds of older programmes, car stickers, metal badges etc
