Halesowen Town were formed in 1873. They currently play in the Southern League Premier Divison and have previously played in the Birmingham Combination and the West Midlands (Regional) League.
Their greatest achievements on the pitch were their three visits to Wembley Stadium during the 1980s, all in the FA Vase Final. After losing on their first visit in 1983, to VS Rugby, they subsequently returned in 1985 and 1986 and brought the FA Vase back home. In 1985 they beat Fleetwood Town of the North West Counties League, 3-1 in front of 16,715 and the following year they returned and beat Southall from the Isthmian League 3-0 in front of 18,340.
Halesowen have an excellent website and a fans forum, to visit the website click here and to speak to the Yeltz fans click here
In local senior competitions Halesowen lifted the Birmingham Senior Cup in 1984 and again in 1988. They lifted the Staffordshire Senior Cup in 1989 and more recently won the Worcestershire Senior Cup in 2003 beating Evesham Utd.
The 2007/08 Halesowen Town programme, pictured left. This copy is from the abandoned game between The Yeltz and Gloucester City on 15th January 2008. Abandoned at half time due to a waterlogged pitch with the score at 1-1. A really good read, packed with information, especially about the visitors and great value at £1.50. Pictured above, right, is the main covered standing area between the goal.
The photograph on the right shows the open terrace which runs down one side of the pitch and behind the bottom goal. The Grove has a capacity of 3,150. This includes seats for 525 and a total of 930 covered.

Halesowen's social club is situated outside the ground about 100 yards back up Old Hawne Lane. Excellent facilities, recently refuirbished and there is a decent view of the football on the TV from every part of the club.
At the end of the 1982/83 season Halesowen Town won the final of the Thorn-EMI 6-a side competition at the Alexandra Stadium in Birmingham and won £20,000 of floodlights.
