Kidderminster Harriers had the honour of playing in the first FA Trophy final at the new Wembley Stadium, sadly for the thousands who travelled along the M4 to London they ended up on the losing side. Stevenage Borough winning the Trophy 3-2 after James Constable had given the Harriers a 2-0 lead after 37 minutes.
This photo shows the Kidderminster Harriers end of Wembley for the first FA Trophy Final at the new stadium. A fantastic turn out from Kidderminster, sadly they went home wondering how on earth they lost after being 2-0 up! The attendance for the game was 53,262, which is a record for a FA Trophy Final. It was also Kidderminster's fourth appearance in a Trophy Final.

The main stand at Aggborough, pictured here as the fog came down. Kidderminster's record attendance for a game here is 9,155 for a game against Hereford United in 1948. A record that looks like it will stand for quite a while as the ground now has a capacity of 6,419 of which 3,175 are seats.
Another interesting record is the record transfer fee the club received from West Bromwich Albion for Lee Hughes in July 1997 of £380,000.
Kidderminster Harriers started life as an athletics club in 1877 and in 1880 joined forces with a local Rugby club, changing their name to Kidderminster Harriers and Football Club. It wasn't until 1886 that they switched from Rugby Football to Association Rules Football and this marked the birth of Kidderminster Harriers Football Club.
During the late 1880s there was two football clubs in the town, Harriers and Kidderminster Olympic, local derbies bringing in around 7,000 fans. Harriers and Olympic amalgamated in 1890.
The recent history of the Harriers saw the club return to the Southern League in 1972 with promotion to top flight non-league football coming at the end of the 1982/83 season. National fame came for the club during the 1993/94 season when they reached the fifth round of the FA Cup, finally losing to West Ham United. Kidderminster also won the Conference title that season, but were controversially denied promotion to the football league. It took another six years for this to happen and only after improvements to their stadium. The club finally started the 2000/01 season as a football league club and enjoyed five years of league football before being relegated back to the conference in 2005.
Turnstyles at Aggborough and above the supporters' social club. Kidderminster still attract great support with average home gates of around 1,500.
