Leamington fans should be prouud of the New Windmill.  Its one of the neatest grounds in the Southern League and the backdrop is the beautiful Warwickshire countryside.  That said, it's woefully inadequate for the amount of support they attract and the level they play at.  Plans are in place to upgrade the New Windmill, terracing should be sorted on the North Bank by the strart of next season.  Its not the best place to watch a game of football these day (becuse of the lack of any evalated view) but within the next five years Leamington FC look set to have a stadium to match the quality of the football they play.

Leam Harbury Lane Ens

The Harbury Lane end of the ground is the only other covered area for the fans, its worth turning out on a Sturday just to sample the atmosphere when the Leamington fans start to sing, some very special fans indeed!!!!

Leamington FC are one of the best supported non-league sides in the Midlands.  After going out of business in 1988 a group of fans kept the name going with a view to starting all over again.  This Leamington Fans Celebrate a Goalhas been achieved with amazing results.  The fans acquired a piece of land and started to build what is General Leam Fansnow the New Windmill Ground. Leamington returned to the football world at the start of the 2000/01 season, playing in the Midland Combination Second Division and  a fantastic run of promotions now seees them back in the Southern League!  One of the many highlights of the last few years has to be the FA Cup First Round Proper game away at Colchester United.

Leam v Colchester progLosing 9-1 didn't stop the massive following from Leamington having a great day out, Match of the Day showed highlights of the game and the fans looked and sounded impressive, they certainly gained the respect of the Colchester fans who would have to admit they were outsung throughout the game.

Colchester away in the FA Cup First Round Proper was probably the biggest game in Leamington's recent history, but there is no doubt that there is more great cup ties for Leamington to come.

Leamington's army of fans has been boosted in the last few years by the demise of VS Rugby/Rugby United.  Many fans now travel down the fosse every Saturday to see Leamington play.  Rugby Brakes have been welcomed by the Leamington fans and officials and seem to have found a new home.

Matt Leam Fan
Matt Blunt (pictured left) was perhaps one of the keenest of the Rugby Brakes.  He sadly died suddenly last September.  He would have been touched by the help and support given to members of his family by the Leamington fans, officials and players.  Leamington FC had a special place in Matt's heart and the conduct of everyone at Leamington around the time of his death showed what a great club they are.

Leamington must be one of the nost documented teams outside of the football league, every game is recorded on DVD.  DVDs of Leamington games are available to buy so if you couldn't get to your club's recent away game at the New Windmill just contact the club, North Bank Banter or follow the link below to get yourself a recording of the game. These are the things that make non-league football so special, its called love for your club and dedication, something that's sadly missing these days in top flight football where all the owners care about is a quick profit.

End of season highlight DVDs are produced each year, and in fact the one for the 2006/07 season is available soon.  A monthly highlight DVD is also available for those fans who don't have the time to sit through the whole re-run of games.  All the profits from this poject go to funding the club and if you're interesting in buying a copy of any Leamington DVDs just go to the Brakes Videos website,  http://www.brakesvideos.tk

Work continues to improve the New Windmill and considerable improvements are set to be made, to what is already a smart little ground, over the next few years.  Few followers of the non-league game in the Midlands doubt that they will soon be back up in the conference and well you never know where it may end!
