Newark Town play their home games at Collingham FC, which is a small basic ground but it does have an excellent social club with two floors. Covered accommodation at Station Road is limited, however there is a small stand on the social club side of the ground. The far end of the ground is not accessible to supporters as the ground ends somewhat abruptly, being fenced off from the road and the houses at that end of the ground. There is an unusual view of the game should you park on the road just behind the goal.
Newark Town FC was originally formed in 1868 and for a long time played in the old Midland League. The club folded in the 1930s and after a long spell an attempt to reform the Club was made in the 1970s but after an initial spell of success the Club again went into limbo. Under the leadership of current Chairman Paul Baggaley the club was reformed again in the late 1980s and its first venture was to enter a team in the Notts. Imperial Youth League [U16 Division] with the specific aim of developing a young squad that would progress to senior football.
From 1990 to 1994 a Junior Section became established playing in the Young Elizabethan and Notts Imperial Youth Leagues. In 1994 the Club took the step into Senior Football by entering teams in the Midland Regional Alliance and Grantham and District League focusing on good young local players.

In 1997 the Club was admitted into membership of the Notts Football Alliance, the then senior league within the County. During 1998 the club was instrumental in establishing the New Newark Youth League and now runs teams from Under 8 to Under 16. A change of management saw the senior side reinvigorated and this resulted in the Notts Alliance Division One Championship being secured in 2003-04. This allowed the club to take another step forward and it joined the Central Midlands League for 2004-05 thus becoming part of the FAs League Pyramid and giving the chance for further advancement.
After consolidating its position in seasons 2004/05 & 2005/06 in the Central Midland League Premier Division with 7th and 9th place finishes season 2006-07 was disappointing as the club found it difficult to recruit sufficient players for its two sides and there was a further blow during the close season as the joint managers who had driven things forward over the previous 4 seasons both resigned.
The decision was taken to scrap the reserve team and its manager, Rupert Thomas, was promoted to team manager with the task of ensuring that the work which had previously been done was not wasted. The hard work put in by chairman Paul Baggaley and the committee over the years has led to the club being awarded FA Community Club Status that resulted in grant aid becoming available on top of normal fund raising which allowed a joint effort with Newark and Sherwood DC to enhance the facilities at Devon Park as the base of the Youth and Junior Sections.
