Chasetown fill the gaps (January 28, 2008)
Southern League Midlands club Chasetown have added three signings to their squad as they attempt to fill the holes left by the departure of key players to Port Vale and Telford in recent weeks.
Central defender Chris Slater and striker Kyle Perry moved to League One side Port Vale and Vaughan Thomas rejoined his old boss Rob Smith at AFC Telford United after impressing for the Scholars in their spectacular FA Cup campaign.
Manager Charlie Blakemore has secured the signatures of former Solihull Moors and Hinckley United central defender Andy Penny and former Willenhall Town defender Lucan Spittle and Jermaine Gordon from Coalville Town.
Spittle, 26, is a 6` 3” strong defender who previously played for Bromsgrove Rovers and Redditch United, whilst Gordon, 27, is a 6 ` 2” target man with a big physical presence previously with Woodford United and Quorn. Click here to return to the News page
