Birchills United Add to Backroom Staff (February 19, 2008)

Birchills United have strengthened their backroom staff with the appointment of evergreen front-man, John Quilt as player-coach.

The experienced striker, who counts Bloxwich Town, Wednesfield, Rushall
Olympic and Willenhall Town amongst his former clubs, has been in a rich
vein of scoring form since arriving at The Old Red Lion Ground from
Darlaston Town earlier in the season, with his goals helping the club
increase their lead at the top of the West Midlands (Regional) League
Division One table.

“John’s experience and know-how has been invaluable to us,” said
player-manager, Michael Moseley. “He commands a tremendous amount of respect from the rest of the lads and is relishing this new role.

“His commitment to the cause can’t be questioned. This is a significant
appointment and a big step forward for us.”

The club has also named Andrew Poole as President.

The 31 year-old was part of the backroom team at Bloxwich Town and has vast experience in the game.

He has been part of the Walsall FC Media Team for the past ten years and
will have a key role to play in the ongoing progression of the club.
