John Barton has been confirmed as the caretaker-manager at Conference North club Worcester City.

Barton, who will be assisted by former City forward Phil Stant, has been placed in temporary charge of team matters following Andy Preece's recent exit.

Barton and Stant will be at the helm for Saturday's trip to Vauxhall Motors.

However, neither will be making the role permanent as City begin their search to replace Preece, who had a contract until the end of this season.
