Davies Promoted to mannger at Stourport Swifts (November 02, 2007) Paul Davies believes he is the man to lift Southern League Division One Midlands club Stourport Swifts out of the doldrums.
The former Kidderminster Harriers `legend` was finally promoted from caretaker-manager to permanent boss, becoming the third Swifts manager in a year after a successful trial period which saw the club win two out of two.
A win over Bedworth United in the league followed by a Worcester Senior Cup victory against Malvern Town, helped him secure the job.
He is charged with establishing Swifts after two really poor seasons.
Davies, who was assistant to previous manager Phil Mullen, will make full use of the club’s young players to inject enthusiasm and energy into the side, and believes he has learned some valuable managerial lessons from former Harriers` boss Graham Allner.
Davies is also hoping Kidderminster Harriers` fans will back his Walshes Meadow tenure, and is appealing for them to turn out in force if they can’t get to Kidderminster's away games.
He is due back at his old club in the Worcester Senior Cup quarter finals next month, however a date for the tie is still to be arranged.Click here to return to the News page
