Chasetown Get Their Man! (November 05, 2007) Southern League Division One Midlands Chasetown have signed impressive striker Nathan Lamey after his release from Premier Division Bromsgrove Rovers.
The 27-year-old chose the Scholars ahead of Conference North Worcester City, Hednesford Town and league Southern League rivals Stourbridge and Willenhall Town, saying he had heard good things about the club.
Lamey was cup-tied, along with fellow new arrival Lee Bullimore, for Saturday’s FA Trophy draw with Radcliffe Borough.
The former Wolves, Cambridge, Moor Green and Hinckley United forward was the Midland Division’s thirty-one-goal top scorer last season.
He joins a other forwards at Church Street with eleven-goal Dean Perrow, Kyle Perry, Danny Smith, Karl Edwards and now Bullimore battling for places.
But manager Charlie Blakemore insisted he couldn’t turn down the chance when Lamey became available.
Blakemore insisted Lamey will simply add to the competition up front.
